Why prepare presentations?
Thorough preparation is key to a successful presentation. End of story.
Nothing is easy in presenting. You should never underestimate it. It's always very important to prepare to prepare
If if it takes me. 20 times to go over a presentation. Then I will do it 20 times. The more prepared you are.
The the more confident you're going to be, it's your kind of insurance policy for fighting against nerves. Good, thorough preparation means you can go in being your best self in the space and you have more chance of getting the message across to your audience.
It honours your audience.
You know it's it's good to think of your audience as as being busy, you know, don't waste their time if you can save them time by getting your point across, they will thank you for it.
So your preparation is very important for structure. Without that, you're going to be meandering, all over the place and the audience will just lose interest and they'll stop listening.
So the preparation gives you the confidence, the structure to keep you on track.
Also, for students who are using English as a second language, it's useful to know that in Britain, probably more than most other countries, what is prized most in presentations is to be concise and coherent. Get to the point, and keep to it.
